The Power of Knowing Your Numbers.
When you have huge financial barriers to overcome, or you desire something that costs a lot of money, it’s easy to get so bogged down that you don’t really think about what it takes to reach your mark.
Here is a simple concept that has worked wonders in my own life. I break everything down into the smallest common denominator. It’s a lesson that a lot of us learned in elementary math class, but it works in your Internet marketing too.
Let me give you an example. Just a three of four years ago, my wife and I were living in a pretty small 2 bedroom apartment. We knew we wanted more, but we hadn’t really paid much attention to HOW we were going to get more. We didn’t have a plan.
I think what finally FORCED us into creating our first plan for accumlating something we want was when Ford came out with the new body style “Mustang” back in 2005. My wife just HAD to have one.
But it was a $35,000 car (she wanted a GT, and it had to be a convertible).
Instead of saying “we could never afford that”, we started questioning HOW we could afford it. We started planning on what we were going to do to get it. Back then, owning that car meant a $7,000 down payment and payments of $535 per month.
We came up with the means of obtaining the down payment, and then we got to work on how we were going to add an extra $700 per month to our income (insurace on Mustang GT’s isn’t cheap).
We broke it down into small daily requirements. $700 divided by 30 days equaled around an extra $24 per day that we’d need to earn in order to have my wife’s dream car. When I looked at it in these terms, it didn’t seem like so much.
So instead of figuring out how to earn $35,000 - we put into motion a plan that would allow me to earn an extra $24 per day. At the time I was promoting several affiliate programs, and one of them paid out $25 commission. Another paid $75 commission. I zeroed in on the affiliate product that paid out $75, told myself that I needed to make 1 sale every 3 days, and I came up with a plan on how to do it.
Make sure to watch the video above to learn how I’ve gone on to use this same techique to purchase a home on Canyon Lake, buy my own dream car (actually it’s a truck), and achieve multiple other financial goals.
The important thing is TO KNOW YOUR NUMBERS.
Since this is my Overnight Cash System Blog, I’ll explain it using the averages I’ve seen so far in this particular program (although I’ve only been a member for a week).
Here is the breakdown based on my own averages.
>> The opt-in rate of the landing page is 30% (when sending GOOD, targeted traffic)
>> 1 out of 12 opt in prospects requests a “callback” from one of my team leaders.
>> 1 out of 3 people requesting a callback become a TOCS member
>> That new member at a minimum, earns me $500 (although it could be up to $10,000)
So let’s look at these numbers and relate them to something I want in the real-world.
I want a “powered parachute”. Kinda like an airplane, but more like one of those everglades fan boats with a parachute attached, accept it’s not a boat at all. Okay, maybe it’s more like a go-kart with a huge fan on the back, attached to a parachute. Hell, just go here to look for yourself
The point is, the one I want costs $20,000. That’s a lot of money, especially for what is basically a toy. But it’s not unobtainable. To get the $20,000 I need for it, I just need to break down the amount of money I need into more attainable and measurable goals.
So, using the numbers above (which are just averages I know to be true based on what I have seen so far), I can break it down like this.
To earn $20,000 cash, I need a maximum of 40 new members in The Overnight Cash System. Minimum of just TWO (although two members coming in at the $10K tier is HIGHLY optimistic).
To generate 40 new members, I’m going to need (based on my averages), 120 prospects who request a callback. Again, it takes about 12 “opt-in leads” to have one person who requests a callback. That means I’ll need approximately 1,440 opt-in leads.
At the 30% opt-in rate of the Overnight Cash System landing page that I stated earlier, I know that I’m going to need about 4,500 GOOD QUALITY visitors to my landing page to reach my goal, as long as my averages hold up.
Of course I’m also being conservative in some areas, because it’s not rare for someone to come in at a higher tier level than $500, and it’s also not rare for one of the people I refer to also “pass” a referral up to me. But the numbers here are based on ME DOING EVERYTHING, which is of course the only thing I can count on 100%.
I can hope that other people will contribute to helping me achieving my goals while they achieve theirs in the process, but I’m not going to count on that.
So 4500 GOOD QUALITY visitors. That’s not so bad.
So really I only need to find out how to drive 150 (maybe throw some extra in for good measure) good quality visitors to my TOCS landing page, and I’ll be “on track” to have my Powrachute
Try breaking down some of your own goals into measurable “Internet terms” and see if it helps you stay on track to get what you want. I’d be willing to bet that it will!
